MP for Nhyiaso Constituency ,Kennedy Kankam Advices Young Footballers To Take Education Serious


Member of Parliament for Nhyiaso Constituency in the Ashanti Region Hon. Kennedy Kankam has called on up and coming Ghanaian footballers to be serious with their education.


The Majority member of parliament Hon. Kennedy Kankam was invited as a guest to grace the opening ceremony of the 3rd edition of PEVIC Salat Football community Tournament organized annually in South Suntreso a community within the Nhyiaso Constituency.


In his (Hon. Kennedy Kankam)speech, he advised the young footballers in the country to be serious with their education even though they have chosen football as a profession.


"He pleaded with young footballers to combine football with education in order for them to be able to read aiding them sign contracts without difficulties.


"I know a player who signed a contract without knowing the details. Since he couldn't read and understand the terms of the contract, it took someone, an agent to explain the terms contract to him after pending his signature on the contract agreement but unfortunately he had appended his signature to an unfavorable terms "


"For now no person give reason for not further his education to the Senior High knowing there is free SHS education in the country, he said.


The majority member of parliament made a strong example for former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ghana Under- 23 Captain Yuisef Chissiah made good use of the opportunity of education during his playing time both local and abroad. He was able to combine football and school perfectly.


Currently, Yuisef Chissiah hold FIFA football agent certificate and also Professional accountant after his retirement from football which didn't mean he was not a good footballer during his day in the football.
